Winter wheat is in around Cowley, changing the scene

Moored Cowley, Shropshire Union Canal

What a glorious day!

And a lazy one to boot.  I wandered over to the Post Office in Gnosall this morning and collected the mail which included cards and pressies for Vic.. I then returned via one of the very many footpaths in this area.

It is amazing how the land has changed, and very noticeable when just trickling along up and down the same stretch.  Instead of walking through high sweetcorn plants, fields and pasture land were now newly sowed fields of winter wheat.  I was the first to cross them, and I felt guilty to do so!  The farmer had not left a marked track across the fields, although I had a rough idea of which way to cross having done it before in the other direction…

But after having got back..

Cowley, Shroppie

This while munching a piece of chocolate fudge!.. I got a bit too, but that was all I was allowed!

This afternoon I sorted the rest of the post from ‘dan saff’, most of which went into the shredder or bin… sheeeeesh so much junk shoved into envelopes.  Just a credit card statement in one, but the envelope contained 5 leaflets trying to get me to purchase something or other.. they even sent a stamped address envelope for a hopeful reply..

Oh yes,…. you must have a look at this if you have a fast internet connection.  It was sent to me by friend John Elcome, just the funniest bit of film I have seen in ages.. clever dog though!! Click here to view video

Edit:  Dave Elcome not John!
