JD Boats at Gailey do a grand job in the end

David here at JD Boats wanted to get an electrician in to check out the electrics aboard No Problem.  Vic and I had already discussed this last night.  We had decided whatever had gone wrong with the second inverter we would not be happy now in the future wondering if there was an electrical fault.

I was out when he arrived.   I had to go to Penkridge to the docs you see.  Such was the pain in one of my little toes it has stopped me from walking.  I felt a fraud in the surgery, I mean… a little toe for goodness sake!  The last time I went to the docs was a couple of years ago.  I’m not one of those who goes running there at the first sniff of a cold.. but this was serious!  I have to be able to walk!!

An infection seemingly.. well that’s what he has treated me for.  Hopefully in a few days I will be able to walk out again.  In the mean time, Vic is getting more exercise than normal!

Good news when I returned to No Problem, the electrician had passed the boat as fault free.  For sure it was the second inverter that was at fault.  What a huge coincidence.  For those not having read the blog over the last week, our inverter blew up last Saturday, was replaced with a new one during the week, which broke down just 24 hours after it was fitted. An inverter is a piece of equipment that changes our battery bank of 12v into mains power for our washing machine, tv etc.

So we will hang around for a short while here at Gailey until we are happy that our third inverter will work properly for us..

A rear end view of Vic.  I am doing a wash tomorrow to check that the washing machine will be OK with the new inverter (or the other way round).  These socks will be in the wash!  I’ll get Vic to hang the washing up, then when he moans to me about odd socks I will show him this pic!! Teehee!!

JD Boats are one of the best boatyards we have visited when urgent work was needed to No Problem.  I found them extremely fair, their prices for parts was very competitive, in fact David charged us a lower price for the inverter than I could find on the internet.  The workmanship was top class, and his staff knew exactly what they were doing.  I would recommend them to all boaters in this area.
