Wood, wood and more wood as we approach Cowley
Little Onn to Cowley, Shropshire Union Canal, 2 miles
Leisurely breakfast this morning before pulling the pins. It’s so nice sitting at the dinette looking out of the windows in the morning, today this was across from No Problem as I looked out..

One thing about living on a narrowboat, if you don’t like the view you just move!.. But that wasn’t the reason to move this morning though. We are making our way slowly to Norbury Junction Boatyard to have the bottom blacked next week.
We had a tip from Annie of NB Moore2Life that there was some wood not far away. Moore2Life is a few miles ahead of us at the moment.. Sure enough we found the wood and got as close as we could to it. We managed to get it aboard all apart from one bit which between us we manage to drop in the cut. This was good stuff, beech..

Such good wood Vic was not about to leave it, so he retrieved it from the water and plonked it aboard!
Our licence disc hasn’t arrived yet. I sent off for it before Christmas too. A British Waterways chap had a real good look at us while we where at Wheaton Aston.. so I wondered myself if maybe there was something wrong. I went to the website that you can report boats too that are not showing a licence and put in 508087, No Problem’s BW number, and sure enough up came “This boat is licensed. The owner might have forgotten to display it.”
Well it’s not a case of forgotten to display it, I ain’t got it! I suppose I should chase it up and find out where it is, but these days I seem to be forever phoning people chasing stuff, sorting stuff out etc etc. I wonder how much it costs per person in phone calls over a year listening to music while on hold!
I’ll send them an email and jolly them along!
More luck a little further along the cut where we met a team of BW workers cutting down overhanging trees. They had just finished felling an ash tree.. a large one, and asked us if we wanted wood.. hehe silly question!! “Ash you say.. errrrr yes please”

Phew enough wood now for a month! We are both well tired after a woody day.. but very satisfied!
