Stupid white bollards and I spy loads of jeans drying on the Shroppie
Church Minshull to Nantwich, Shropshire Union Canal, 8 miles 2 locks
A fantastic sun late last night as it dropped out of sight over the village of Church Minshull..

It always seems to happen doesn’t it.. you know when you have just pulled the pins a boat appears from under the bridge behind you.. So we waited a couple of minutes for that to pass and get away a bit before we pushed off and away just as another boat emerged from the bridge.. I bet he wasn’t too happy to find two boats in front of him now!
Two locks to do today, and both of them were very deep indeed.. We arrived first in the end as the boat in front stopped to let the crew off for a walk about a mile from the lock… Cholmondeston Lock.. what a mouthful.. was the second deep one..

Ah now, there are some lovely new bollards that I am suppose to put my ropes round in these narrow extremely deep locks… what a waste of money, I this it is a disgrace that these have been put on the sides of hundreds of locks. They have even been placed out of the way so as not to trip people up, they are no where near the edge of the lock where they should be if people are suppose to use them.. I suppose it lined someones pocket in bonuses to have these put in..
A quick stop at Hurleston Junction where the Llangollen Canal goes off into Wales. The farm at the main road bridge sells the most fantastic eggs.. I got a couple of dozen when we went through on the way to the Weaver, and there were plenty of double yokers.. so same again please…
On the outskirts of Nantwich I spy…

It’s Piston Broke!!
I thought I would have a chat to Paul and Lynne later when I walked Lucy and Meg as they weren’t to be seen as we passed, but when I got back to No Problem after having been to the chandlers for oil and side fenders.. we lost one today.. Vic told me that they had turned round and had past him going South.. shame, but maybe we will catch up with them later..
We were lucky to find a space on the embankment after filling with water, tomorrow we are going in to Crewe to a tip top butcher that I found there on my last visit and to get some clear varnish.. I have one or two little jobbies to do..
