Hi Sue
We met in march near Lymm. We are back on the canals on our boat Imvubu (Hippo) in Birmingham. WOW – what a city. STUNNING. love your blogs especially when we are back home in South Africa. We are desperate to find out a list of launderettes on the canals. Since we are not live aboard and have no washing machine we depend on finding laudrettes and thought you would be best person to ask.
LOVELY pic of the 4 gorgeous girls.

!st mate guides will show where launderettes are for where that particular area that the guide covers. Aylesbury Canal Society used to sell a guide for launderettes all over the canal system. Plus ask fellow boaters. I had a spin dryer aboard plus a table top washer on my boat, useful for the smaller things. Cheapest launderettes I ever came across was the one at Skipton and Rugeley. Dearest was the one at Newark which I refused to use because of the price.

Hello Mandy,
Yes I remember our meeting! There are a couple of lists, one you have to pay for and one you don’t…

But of course you can always ‘google’ it… (Altrincham laundrette), that will give you a map with all the closest marked. Hope you enjoy your cruise, and look forward to meeting up with you again
Julie,
I was worn out each evening, by the time they went to bed it was almost 10!
Kate,
Thanks for that, I have just been into Hungerford town and that one is now closed… I used to use that when on the K&A before I got a machine..

It’s a bugger when a launderette shuts down. When out on my travels and I see a launderette I feel quite chuffed and I don’t need one anymore but it’s nice to know that they are still around.
