Two collie dogs and plenty of blackberries at Great Bedwyn
Moored Great Bedwyn, Kennet & Avon Canal
Much as I love Lucy and Meg, one thing I don’t like about them is their hair!..
This little lot is enough to knit a jumper.. and no it wasn’t a week or two since I last brushed the mat, it was the day before yesterday! They don’t even lie on it.. just pass by..
I am pleased we have the wooden floor, the boat is easy enough to brush through, just imagine what it would be like if it was fully carpeted!
We moved up just one lock today to the 48 hour visitor moorings at the village itself. Jessica went home on Saturday and Louise, Vic’s daughter, arrived late lunch time for a week’s holiday with us.. Good job she has bought her wet gear as the rain has not stopped since later this afternoon.. for sure it is very wet around here.
Yesterday it got rather cold, so for the first time this winter…
The fire was lit, but by the time the evening came we were baking hot, open all the windows and doors!… I hate it this time of year, it is sort of in between being too warm for a fire and too cold not to!
Good blackberries around Great Bedwyn and along with some apples off the tree at the bottom lock at Crofton this afternoon the jam pan was out again.. Another 5 pots in the store.. it tasted pretty good too!

Hi Sue,
I fully sympathise with you about the rug. I have a 13 year old border collie who looks quite like Meg and she came from wales too – maybe they are distant relations! Anyway, our boat is fully carpeted and it is a complete nightmare where she races up and down dropping fur as she goes, even though she and the carpet get brushed everyday we are on board, so I know what you mean!! Maybe we should change the floor covering – hind sight is a great thing!!

Tracy,
Well we had carpets on our first boat, and I used to be on the floor with an old plimpsole scraping away the hairs..
With the new boat we decided to put in the wooden floor and chuck out the plimpsole!
