Am well pleased and the supernatural?

Moored Docked Las Palmas, Grand Canaria, Canary Island

Heh, 21 degrees here folks!

“Am well pleased”, says the title.  I am too.  I got a snap tonight of what my eye saw, an awsome sight as we left Grand Canaria after dark yesterday..

Grand Canaria

No flash, on a moving boat ship. Talking of which I looked at the fuel consumption today on here. 1 litre takes this ship just 40 metres! Gordon Bennet! (Is it 2 ‘T’s’?). And I worry about NP’s consumption!

We have an Italian Capt you know, but it hasn’t put us off.  Seems he is not into short cuts and he is a very good driver using all the modern thrusters available.. Pilot is a must of course in and out of the harbours..

Grand Canaria

They look like dinky toys from our high above cabin balcony. We had a good day yesterday in Las Palmas, the capital of Grand Canaria..

Grand Canaria

It was the same last time we came here. These guys fill the square playing games, serious stuff too.  Chess, crib, dominos, cards and whatever.  No beers, just a social thing.  I wonder what their wives are doing!

Here they had a very novel way of ‘sweeping the pavements’.. They don’t!  They have another way of doing that..

Grand Canaria

They just hose the rubbish straight down the drain! Vic thought it had been raining when we arrived he soon changed his mind!

Last night we saw a classical guitarist in one of the two theatres.  I am not into classical stuff, but I am into guitars.. what to do?  I did!  I decided to go see.  I had to snap Sir out of a quick snooze a couple of times.. well he was tired after I frog marched him up the prom along the beach for a mile or so, but I wanted to appreciate what this guy had to offer.

Would I go to another classical guitar concert again?  No I wouldn’t, but I was pleased that I sat and listened to a culture that should be maintained for future generations who would enjoy more than me.

So to the “Supernatural” in the title.

Was funny last night .. As ever, I carry a necklace that belonged to my Mother.  I have done since she died in 1978. I have always taken it with me wherever I go, but never worn it.  Last night I wanted to wear it for the first time ever, so I did.  But I don’t know why.  Odd…

Why did I do that?   I had no reason or recall nor thought or memory.  Was quite happy to take it off at the end of the evening too and put it back where I keep it. But I was still a bit bothered as to why I had the urge to do that after 33 years!

Today we are in Tenerife.

    hello sue
Something deep in the depths of your brain triggered memories of mum and made you decide. I find myself doing things for no apparent reason sometimes and the only connection i can make is Val.
    Enjoy yourselves. XX

    Norwyn,

It really was quite warm on some of the days and the sea was calm for every day!
